How Can I Help?

We are ALWAYS looking for new parents to get involved and join the PTFA!

We currently have some positions vacant for 2019/20:

PTFA Banker

This is a role that would really suit a parent that works part time, or works from home and has the time to pick up floats before an event and drop off money after an event. We bank with Natwest.
Floats can be ordered with the bank via email and then collected and sorted in advance of an event, so it can work around your schedule.  Money can also be stored in the school safe when needed.

You will work closely with the PTFA Treasurer who will record all the income and expenditure for each event and manage all accounting.  We are desperately looking for someone to fill this position in September as our treasurer is unable to continue doing both roles.

Chair of PTFA

Key skills are being able to chair the PTFA meetings and liaise confidently with the school – this role does not mean that you will be single-handedly running the PTFA, there are teams in place to run most events and a core committee who work together. The Chair works closely with Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team of the school who set the priorities for PTFA’s involvement to enhance the learning and opportunities for the children at the school.

The current Chair is happy to shadow/job share and support the new person in 2019/20.

There are many ways to help with the successful running of the PTFA and events:

  • Join the Committee or an events team
  • Attend PTFA events with your families
  • Become a Class Link
  • Bring your ideas to the Meetings
  • Volunteer to help out at Events
  • Volunteer your time and / or expertise.
  • Donate things for events
  • Shop via the PTFA Webshop
  • If you would like to fund raise on behalf of the Bishop Road PTFA, you can set up your own fundraising page using Wonderful Fundraising (similar to Just Giving and Virgin Money Giving, only with no charges to the PTFA for the service)
